Learn about Teen Court.
In Teen Court you will be participating in a real case with a real judge and a real juvenile defendant. You can volunteer as a jury member, teen prosecutor or teen defense attorney.
Cases typically heard in Teen Court include Class C misdemeanor violations of State law such as theft under $100 or alcohol/tobacco related offenses for minors. These are fine-only offenses. In the case of Teen Court, the trial determines the terms of the deferral program the defendant will enter into, such as community service hours.

You do not need to be an Austin resident or a U.S. citizen to participate.
A representative from Municipal Court's Juvenile Services will reach out to you within two weeks to schedule your participation.
Teen Court occurs the second Thursday of every month from 6pm to 8pm. It is held at City Hall's Boards and Commissions Room, first floor, room #1101.
If you park in the City Hall garage and bring your parking ticket with you, we will validate it so you will not have to pay for parking.
